76/365 Problem Area
The rest of the kitchen is fabulous (see next photos). I can't really figure out what to do here. Over the stove is really ugly. I need to solve two things: 1) what to plug into the plug that covers it up and will stay on the wall? Ideally a light since that corner of the kitchen is really dark. 2) what to put in the cabinets above the microwave to hide the cord/plug for the microwave and stove and to disguise the fact that it's the only unpainted cabinet in the kitchen.

Looks like an outlet for a clock. Or even a battery-operated clock. But you can always replace the faceplate.
I've always wondered why people buy vases, but you could probably put one in the cabinet.
I think the fan grate is a bit problematic too, but I'm not sure what would be best there.
I wondered if it was you reading along...
Yes, a clock... a faceplate... a lamp... (a lamp might require an electrician)...
I've shopped for vases actually. That is one idea. A wicker basket or some thing is another. It has to be the right size though...It has to fit and it has to be big enough to hide the ugliness.
Yep, that's me.
Or, a big ball of yarn would be more whimsical. I always have trouble telling the difference between "more whimsical" and "too weird", though.
So the space is above the stove, which means it will collect grease etc. So I don't want anything too expensive or with the potential to get nasty up there. It's kind of like the top of fridge I think.
A friend suggested making cabinet doors and just closing it and that may be the most practical. I contemplated buying square art work and hanging it to cover the holes (but see above).
