So I tried to play with creating a highly in focus foreground and a blurred background with some succes. I learned I need a lot of light to do this with my little point & click. And I learned that I need a fair amount of distance (3-4+ feet) between the in focus point and the background. And I learned that I really REALLY need to toss the dog toys in the wash because they look disgusting in hyper focus.
